• Filed the first veterinary drug patent for anti-T. cruzi activity in dogs
• Principal scientist for the U.S. military working dog Chagas treatment study
• Veterinary lead for the Texas Chagas Task Force alongside the CDC and UT Health

Your pet is being treated by the same expert helping shape how Chagas disease is understood nationwide.

Chagas disease is caused by the parasite Trypanosoma cruzi, transmitted by “kissing bugs” commonly found in Texas.Once infected, dogs may appear normal while the parasite attacks the heart and other organs.Without intervention, Chagas can lead to:

Heart disease

Arrhythmias

Sudden death

Early Detection. Advanced Treatment. Led by One of the Nation’s Top Experts.

Do not wait for symptoms to appear.

Chagas disease progresses in stages. The earlier it is identified:

The more treatment options are available

The better heart damage can be managed

The higher the chance of improving quality of life

Waiting can mean irreversible cardiac damage.

If your dog may have been exposed to kissing bugs, do not wait. Chagas disease can silently damage the heart before symptoms appear. Early diagnosis can make the difference.

Chagas disease is often silent early on, but warning signs may include:

Lethargy or decreased activity

Fainting or collapse

Irregular heartbeat

Difficulty breathing

Unexplained weight loss

If your dog spends time outdoors, lives in Central Texas, or has been exposed to insects, they may be at risk even without symptoms.

If your dog may be at risk, schedule an evaluation today and get answers from one of the leading experts in the field.

Why Preventive Care Matters: The Value of Pet Wellness Bundles
When pets appear healthy, it can be easy to assume everything is fine. However, many health conditions develop gradually and may not show obvious signs until they become more serious. That's why preventive care plays such an important role in veterinary medicine. Routine wellness visits help identify potential concerns early, support long-term health, and give pet owners a better understanding of their pet's overall well-being.For many families, wellness bundles provide a convenient and cost-effective way to stay current on recommended preventive care throughout the year.
What Is Preventive Veterinary Care?
Preventive care focuses on keeping pets healthy rather than waiting until illness develops.Routine wellness exams allow veterinary teams to evaluate a pet's overall health, monitor changes over time, and discuss important topics such as nutrition, weight management, parasite prevention, dental health, and age-related concerns.Regular veterinary visits can help identify issues before they become more complicated, which often leads to better outcomes and less stressful treatment plans.
Why Wellness Exams Are Important
Pets age much faster than people, which means significant health changes can occur in a relatively short period of time.Annual or semi-annual wellness exams help establish a health baseline and allow veterinarians to detect subtle changes that may otherwise go unnoticed. These visits also provide an opportunity to review vaccination status, discuss lifestyle changes, and ensure preventive care recommendations remain appropriate for your pet's needs. For senior pets, routine monitoring becomes even more valuable as age-related conditions become more common.
How Wellness Bundles Help Pet Owners
One of the biggest barriers to preventive care is often cost.Wellness bundles are designed to help pet owners stay proactive by combining recommended services into a more affordable package. Rather than delaying routine care, wellness bundles make it easier to keep pets on schedule with important health services.By investing in preventive care today, pet owners may be able to avoid more serious health concerns and unexpected expenses in the future.
Supporting Your Pet Through Every Life Stage
Preventive care is important for pets of all ages.Puppies and kittens need regular exams to support healthy growth and development. Adult pets benefit from ongoing wellness monitoring and preventive care recommendations. Senior pets often require closer observation to help manage age-related health changes. No matter their age, routine care helps ensure pets receive the attention they need to stay healthy and comfortable.
Limited-Time Wellness Bundle Savings
As part of our commitment to preventive care, participating hospitals are offering a limited-time wellness bundle promotion. The offer provides up to 40% off select wellness bundles, helping make preventive care more accessible for pet owners.

Please refer to the attached offer for complete details, eligibility requirements, and participating services.
Investing in Long-Term Health
Preventive care is one of the most valuable investments pet owners can make. Routine wellness visits provide opportunities to detect concerns early, track health changes over time, and support a higher quality of life for pets at every stage.A proactive approach today can help support healthier tomorrows for the pets who depend on us every day.Wellness bundles are available for well pets only and are not intended for pets presenting with illness, injury, or other medical concerns. This bundle cannot be combined with other promotions. Bloodwork is a required component of adult and senior bundles and may not be removed. Vaccines are not included in the bundle price; however, a flat $10 discount will be applied to any bundle that includes a vaccine.

Learn why preventive veterinary care is important for your pet's long-term health and how wellness bundles can help make routine care more affordable.
